This is my first "blog"- feeling a little out of the loop, I thought the Pool family needed to get into the swing of things. So, Hello bloggers!
Though it is only August, it feels like we are quickly approaching the end of the year; I think I can already smell the holidays brewing; I believe a 2007 recap is appropriate as our first blog.
We started 2007 living in Farmers Branch, due with baby number two, and Matt working on a building project that seemed to have no end in sight. Lilly turned 2- she seemed so big and was getting busier by the day. By February- after the third time being burglarized, we were moving to Heath- "Out of Dallas County" per Matt's proclamation. It seemed exciting, refreshing even, the questions about where Lilly would go to school seemed easily answered- there's an exemplary elementary less than a mile away- we could have some space both inside and out, it was closer for Matt to get to East Texas. But close enough to friends and family we did not feel like we were leaving again. Heath was the answer- and it had the added irony that we could call our selves "Heathens" without implying something offensive.
We got a puppy- it seemed logical at 71/2 months pregnant, packing to move, with Matt out of town every week, and a 2 year old- to add more to the mix- shake things up a bit. Izzy, a rescue dog believed to be partly catahoula leopard, joined the family just in time to get potty trained before we moved to the new house.
Baby arrives! April brought taxes and sweet baby Ainsley Claire. Lilly was thrilled- not only had she gotten a new puppy, moved into a new house, moved out of the crib to a big girl bed- she had a new baby sister. Her standard response when people would ask "She doesn't walk or talk, she only cries and spits up." That about summed it up- we were all exhausted.
The summer has proven to bring much relief to us all. We are feeling better settled and better rested. Lilly and Ainsley are both doing great, we feel overwhelmingly blessed to have two healthy happy girls. Matt has finished the project and has some down time, we have been on vacation, and Izzy loves the yard. Life is good, they say.
The rest of 2007 seems to hold some interesting adventures- I guess that is what we will be blogging about.......
